Krabi Audio Guide
Krabi looks out onto the Andaman Sea among limestone towers that were born in an ancient sea. Ao Nang Beach, with no pier, sees the long-tails board right on the sand, and Nopparat Thara, the old dry-canal beach, is the seat of the national park that reaches as far as the Phi Phi Islands and keeps a giant conch 7.5 m high. At Laem Pho, the Fossil Shell Cemetery is a platform of freshwater snails cemented by calcite, with a popular age of 75 million years that the study of pollen corrected to between 40 and 20 million. On the Railay peninsula, with no roads and reached only by sea, Railay West Beach brings together more than 600 climbing routes in 45 sectors, and Phra Nang Cave Beach holds a shrine with hundreds of phallic offerings for a princess. At the mouth of the Krabi River, the two towers of Khao Khanab Nam, about 100 metres high, shelter a rock shelter with the trace of a sea that some 6,000 years ago stood 5 metres higher; and in Krabi Noi, the Tiger Cave Temple, founded in 1975, culminates in a staircase of 1,237 steps up to a golden Buddha.

The Krabi audio guide is available in Spanish and English, with researched, fact-checked narration on the beaches and limestone towers of the Andaman, the fossils of Laem Pho, the prehistory of Khao Khanab Nam and the Tiger Cave monastery.
The audio guide brings together 7 independent routes with about seven hours of narration in total, from 40 to 120 minutes per route. They can be spread over three days: one for Ao Nang Beach and Nopparat Thara Beach, another for Railay West and the Phra Nang cave together with the Fossil Shell Cemetery, and a third for Khao Khanab Nam and the Tiger Cave Temple.
They are different experiences. The EarGuide audio guide lets you explore Krabi without timetables or groups, pause and resume whenever you like, and replay any explanation as often as you need. It suits independent travellers, families and anyone who prefers to understand the place at their own pace, with no prior knowledge of Thailand.
The Krabi audio guide covers 7 main sites: Ao Nang Beach, Nopparat Thara Beach, the Fossil Shell Cemetery, Railay West Beach, Phra Nang Cave Beach, Khao Khanab Nam and the Tiger Cave Temple.
No. The sites are spread across the province and transfers are needed. Only two stretches can be walked: Ao Nang and Nopparat Thara, about 2.4 km apart in a straight line along the beach, and Railay West with the Phra Nang cave, about 600 metres apart on the same peninsula. Railay can only be reached by sea, by long-tail boat from Ao Nang, about 3 km away. The Fossil Shell Cemetery is 7 km from Ao Nang, Khao Khanab Nam about 12 km and the Tiger Cave Temple about 15 km (straight-line distances), so it is best to go by taxi, songthaew or your own vehicle.
Yes. Purchases belong to your EarGuide account, not to one app or one phone. A city unlocked in the EarGuide app is also unlocked in that city's own app, and the other way round, on both iPhone and Android. Just sign in with the same account on the other device. The store's “restore purchases” button only covers the app the purchase was made in, so signing in is what carries it across.
The Krabi audio guide is inside the EarGuide app, free and ready to use offline. Carry it in your pocket and explore the coast at your own pace.
