2. DATA COLLECTED AND USE OF FIREBASE

EarGuide uses Google Firebase services to improve the functionality and stability of the application.

• Performance data: Error data (Crashlytics) and telemetry are collected automatically to ensure the app works correctly.
• Technical identifiers: Firebase may use technical identifiers for aggregated analytics (feature usage, session time). This data does not directly identify you personally.
• Location: Geolocation is accessed to activate audio guides. This processing is performed on-device. Analytics tools may register the user's general region in anonymised form.
• Data retention: Crashlytics data is retained for a maximum of 90 days. Aggregated analytics data is not linked to personal identifiers and is automatically deleted after 14 months.

3. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

EarGuide uses third-party services for the technical operation of the application:

• Google Firebase: For error analysis and usage telemetry. Firebase operates under EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
• Map providers: To display the location of points of interest on the app's integrated map.

4. LEGAL BASIS FOR PROCESSING (GDPR)

The processing of your data is based on:

• Contract performance: Necessary to provide location-based audio guides, in accordance with our Terms and Conditions.
• Legitimate interest: For technical maintenance (Firebase Crashlytics and anonymised telemetry), ensuring the stability and security of the application.

5. INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS

By using Firebase, your technical data may be processed on servers located outside the European Economic Area (primarily in the US). Firebase operates under EU Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.

6. USER RIGHTS

You have the right to:

• Access the data we hold about you.
• Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Erase your personal data (right to be forgotten).
• Restrict the processing of your data.
• Data portability: receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
• Object to processing based on legitimate interest.

7. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

EarGuide does not request personal data from children under 13 years of age. If you are between 13 and 17, please consult your parents or guardians before using the app.

8. SECURITY

Your data is protected under Google Cloud and Firebase security protocols, minimising the risk of loss, misuse, or unauthorised access. Communication between the app and Firebase is encrypted using TLS.

9. SECURITY INCIDENTS

In the event of a data breach that may affect your rights, we will notify the supervisory authority (AEPD) within a maximum of 72 hours of becoming aware, and will inform you directly if the risk is high.
